After a record setting Metro Championship win only a few days ago the girls weightlifting team turned in another dominant performance. The team won 9 out of 10 weight classes scoring 80 points to finish ahead of second place Evans who had 56. Jessica Corredor was the 101 champ and her teammate Esther Delbrin finished second. Gabby Serpa’s school record 135 lb clean and jerk helped her win the 110 class. Grace Fay won the 119 class with a 140 lb bench and 135 CJ. In 129 Zamora St.Cyr had a 315 total to win and Renijah Howard finished 3rd. Ni’Kira Smith won the 139 class while Isabel Cox finished 5 lbs behind her in second place. Armelle Oliantus came in second in the 154 class battling through a shoulder injury. In 169 freshman Jordan Reed continues to get better each week posted a 320 total to win. 183 belonged to Jada St.Cyr with a 190 bench press and a 170 CJ. Destinee Alford won the 199 class with a 340 total. Finally in the UNL class Ty Smith’s 400 lb total led the way while Zaria Joseph came in third. Excellent performance for the ladies. Next up is regionals at Colonial next Friday which will be a huge test for the ladies.
